It's Not Too Late!

Happy Saturday to one and all -

I know during the hustle and bustle of the Holidays that we can become 'overwhelmed' and sometimes a little 'depressed' with all that needs to be done.  We think we 'have' to get that certain gift or we 'have' to make the house look 'perfect'.  During these times, I make myself take time for ME!   I take little 'breaks' and breathe deeply - - - taking a moment to be 'quiet' with myself.  I find a quiet spot and focus on the quiet and take 20 second breathes in and 20 second breathes out.  Soon I start feeling a peacefulness fall upon me and I am able to focus again on the task at hand.  I hope you will try this if you are feeling a little rushed or overwhelmed with life.  This little exercise has changed my life - - -and let's face it - - - life happens 'fast' these days!

On another note, I hope you are also taking care of YOURSELF by trying to eat right, exercise and making time for some fun and joy in your life.  Every day is a challenge for me to remind myself that 'a little goes a long way' - whether it be foods that I love and want more of or a glass of wine that turns into three!  Since I have retired, I find that I need to remind myself to 1) get up; 2) get moving; and 3) keep moving.  It is sooooooooooooo easy to sit around and just be lazy - but with that comes unwanted pounds and my clothes that I wore for work not fitting any more!  Not good - and not easy during the holidays to ignore all the yummy sweets and treats that I find myself facing at parties, etc.  What I tell myself is - "I'll make a deal with you 'body' - If I treat you right by exercising - I can have that piece of cheesecake or whatever is tempting me."  This has become my daily conversation with myself and I have to keep enforcing it every day.

Good Luck with whatever struggles you are currently having or going through.  I wish you JOY and HAPPINESS.

As Always, Terrie
